Cutting/Charcuterie Board Care

Quickly scrub your board with a sponge that has a small amount of soap added (use soap only if needed), then rinse well with warm water.
This next step is extremely important: Dry all parts of the board immediately to remove as much moisture as possible. Ideally the board will feel dry to the touch. Then place on its side, so that both sides of the board are exposed (until fully dry). You can do this using a dish drying rack.

A few more tips:

  • Never place board in the dishwasher or submerge in water. Doing so will make it hard for it to dry, which may cause mold and/or your board to split
  • If you need to wash your board to do more chopping, just rinse the top of the board off and continue using. Be sure to wash and fully dry off the board when you are finished (following the above steps to avoid damage).

Board Butter

You should have received a can of board butter with your purchase. Condition your board once a month to keep it looking as good as new. Directions for use are printed on the back of the tin. You can purchase additional board butter as needed on our website.
